The primary, overall workshop goals are to help kids:

develop a more positive attitude about life;

develop a more positive, empowering sense of self-worth,

develop a more positive perspective about those in the world around them.

The following objectives were established in order to reach the workshop goals:

Students will develop an awareness and understanding of the challenges they and other people face;

Students will develop a greater awareness and appreciation of their own abilities, and the abilities of those around them;

Students will learn how abilities and attitude can help them overcome their challenges;

Students will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of individual differences.

Students will understand that all people have feelings and dreams, no matter what our differences;

The "ability focused" North Star Can Do! approach helps students develop a more positive sense of self-worth, and a more positive and hopeful attitude about life, the future, and the people in the world around them.
